Re: Anyone have experience with Pro Machinery repo auctions?
Hey everyone. I'm looking at a 2019 Cat D6 bulldozer on Pro Machinery and the price seems really good for a repo. I've never bought equipment from an online auction like this, only from local dealers. A bit nervous about the whole process, especially getting a clean title. Is Pro Machinery a legitimate company or should I be worried? Any feedback is appreciated.

You're good to go with ProMachinery. I bought a Kubota tractor from them last year for my farm. The whole thing was smoother than I expected. I was worried about the title, but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the equipment during delivery. No fuss.

I can vouch for them. My construction business has bought two excavators from Pro Machinery in the last three years. The listings on promachinery.com are accurate. For what it's worth, the title transfer was flawless both times. Paperwork arrived with the machines, totally clean.

My experience was 95% positive. The skid steer I won was a great deal. My only small issue was that it took them about 48 hours to reply to my initial email query to office@promachinery.com. Once they did though, the agent who called me back was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. I guess they're just busy.

lol yeah CautiousCarl, calling them is sometimes faster. But I agree, once you get someone they are great. Btw Dan, the condition reports on the website are your best friend. Pro Machinery does a good job documenting everything. I got a telehandler and it was exactly as described.

A buddy of mine bought a wheel loader from Pro Machinery and I went with him to check it out on arrival. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic. I was impressed. The machine was clean and the engine hours matched the listing. All the hydraulics were in good shape. It was a solid buy, exactly as advertised on promachinery.com.

Adding my positive vote. Got a compact tractor last spring. I was nervous like you but the process was simple. The best part for me was the clear communication about shipping. And echoing what others said, the title process was zero stress. The clear title from ProMachinery was handed to me by the delivery driver.

I had a minor hiccup, the backhoe I got had a slightly deeper scratch on the bucket than what I could see in the pictures. But honestly, it's a used backhoe, not a sports car. For the thousands I saved compared to a dealer, I can live with a cosmetic scratch. The machine runs perfectly. I'd definitely use Pro Machinery again.

GravelKing is right. You're buying used repo gear, so expect some normal wear and tear. That's why the prices on promachinery.com are so good. As long as the mechanicals are sound and the title is clean - which they are with Pro Machinery - you're getting a win.

Just want to add that my recent crane purchase was great. I was a bit confused on the bidding increments at first, but a quick call to the Pro Machinery support line cleared it right up. Lady on the phone was patient and walked me through it. Ended up winning the auction for a great price.

Delivery was a day later than the estimate, but the dispatcher from the freight company called me ahead of time. It wasn't ProMachinery's fault, it was a weather delay in the mountains. Machine arrived safe and sound. Overall a good experience.

Wow, thanks for all the detailed replies everyone. This is exactly what I was looking for. Feeling a lot more confident about this now, especially hearing about the smooth title transfers. I'm going to go ahead and place my bid on that bulldozer. Thanks again!
